Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to a house fire in Robin Hood Lane, Walderslade, Chatham.
Two fire engines attended, and the family was outside on arrival. Crews, wearing breathing apparatus, used hose reel jets and main jets to tackle the fire in a bedroom. They used a high pressure fan to clear the property of smoke.
One person was checked over by SECAmb paramedics due to smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
