Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a skip alight in an industrial estate on Laker Road, Rochester.

Three fire engines attended, and crews used main and hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.

There are no reported injuries and the cause is believed to be improperly disposed smoking materials.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service always advises:

• Make sure cigarettes are fully out and cooled before being disposed of
• Use a heavy ashtray that can’t easily tip over
• If you have to smoke, do so outside the home to reduce fire risk
