UPDATE at 12:50: Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used main jets to fully extinguish the smoldering waste. For road closure updates please refer to Highways England...........................Kent Fire and Rescue Service is dealing with a waste lorry fire the M25 anticlockwise between junctions 5 and 4. Two fire engines and a bulk water carrier are at the scene. While the fire has been dampened down, in order to fully extinguish the 11 tonnes of smoldering waste inside, and to get traffic moving again as quickly as possible, the lorry will be moved with a police, fire and Highways England escort to a nearby depot. This means the clockwise carriageway, between junctions 4 and 5, will be closed for a short time to allow the lorry to be moved. Once at the depot, firefighters will work to dampen down the tightly packed waste.
