Firefighting operations are now complete at a fire involving a barn and a field on Uplees Road in Faversham.

No injuries were reported, and the cause is not yet known.

Update at 6pm 

People living near Uplees Road in Faversham are no longer being advised to close windows and doors.

The incident has been reduced to two fire engines and a bulk water carrier, and crews have made good progress extinguishing the fire using main jets and hose reel jets.

People living or travelling near Uplees Road in Faversham are being advised to close their windows and doors, due to smoke coming from a barn fire that has spread to a nearby field.

Six fire engines and a bulk water carrier are in attendance, and crews are working to extinguish the fire.
