Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a fire at a house in Alma Road, Sheerness. Three fire engines attended and crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to tackle the blaze, which is believed started in the ground floor lounge, before using high pressured fans to clear the property of smoke. All persons were accounted for and were left in the care of the KFRS Volunteer Response Team. The cause is currently not known.
