Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a kitchen fire on St Paul's Avenue, Faversham.

Two fire engines attended and crews used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames and Positive Pressure Ventilation to clear smoke.

There are no reported injuries and the cause is believed to be from items, accidentally left on a hob, being ignited.

To reduce the risk of fire in your kitchen, be sure to keep oven gloves, tea towels and other items that could catch fire at least 50cm away from the hob.

And remember, if a fire breaks out in your kitchen, get out, stay out and call 999.
