Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a person stuck in mud off Jetty Road, in Warden, on the Isle of Sheppey.

Four fire engines attended and crews wearing dry suits used rescue equipment to bring the person to safety, where they were passed into the care of SECAmb paramedics.

Following the incident, firefighters are reminding people not to try and enter extremely muddy areas or flood water, as it can often be lot deeper than it looks and difficult to get out of.

If you spot someone struggling in mud or in-land water, don't try to rescue them yourself. Call 999 and ask for the fire service.
