Firefighting operations are now complete as the wildfire by Ruins Barn Road near Tunstall, Sittingbourne, is extinguished.

Crews are no longer advising doors and windows be kept closed.

Seven fire engines and two ATVs attended and crews used a combination of beaters, hose reel jets, wildfire hoses, fire fogging units and farming equipment to contain and extinguish the flames.

Three fire engines remain at the scene, dampening down the area and checking for hotspots, and will depart soon

A revisit is planned for this evening for further safety checks.

There are no reported injuries and the cause is not yet known.

People living or travelling near Tunstall, Sittingbourne, are being advised to close their windows and doors due to smoke coming from a wildfire by Ruins Barn Road.

Seven fire engines and two ATVs are currently in attendance and crews are working hard to contain and extinguish the fire.
