Kent Fire and Rescue Service attends a range of incidents including fires, road crashes, flooding, rescues from height, mud or confined spaces. It also supports other agencies including Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Martime and Coastguard Agency on a regular basis.

Standing crop field fire in Sittingbourne
Incident details
Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a fire in a standing crop field on Vigo Lane in Sittingbourne. 
 
Four fire engines and two bulk water carriers were sent to the scene and crews arrived to approximately five hectares of standing corn and bailey alight. Crews extinguished the blaze using a hose reel jet, fire beaters and a fog spike. The cause is believed to be accidental and there were no reported casualties.
