Kent Fire and Rescue Service attends a range of incidents including fires, road crashes, flooding, rescues from height, mud or confined spaces. It also supports other agencies including Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Martime and Coastguard Agency on a regular basis.

Car fire M2 London-bound
Incident details
Firefighters have extinguished a car fire on the hard shoulder of the M2 motorway between junctions 6 and 5 London-bound. The motorway was closed for a short time shortly after 8am as a safety precaution for passing vehicles. Lane lane 2 was reopened at 8.18am. The fire is now out and crews remain at the scene damping down.
