Incidents

Kent Fire and Rescue Service attends a range of incidents including fires, road crashes, flooding, rescues from height, mud or confined spaces. It also supports other agencies including Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Martime and Coastguard Agency on a regular basis.

Incident
Large van fire on the M20 between Wrotham and Swanley
Incident details
Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to a large van well alight on the M20, London-bound, between junction 2 at Wrotham and junction 1 at Swanley. Three fire engines attended and crews wearing breathing apparatus emptied approximately two-thirds of the van contents, and put the fire out using three hose reel jets. 
 
Firefighters managed to salvage a large quantity of household furniture from the van, as well as a bag of photos, for which efforts will be made to return them to the driver. 
 
There were no reported injuries.
