Kent Fire and Rescue Service attends a range of incidents including fires, road crashes, flooding, rescues from height, mud or confined spaces. It also supports other agencies including Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Martime and Coastguard Agency on a regular basis.

Ripple grain silo fire
Incident details
Firefighters attended a fire in a grain silo in Chapel Lane, Ripple near Deal this morning. Crews tackled the blaze in a large quantity of beans that were being dried for animal feed. They used two hose reels and a main jet to extinguish the fire from the top of the silo and assisted the farmer in emptying it.
