Pony rescued from water-filled dyke
Incident details
Firefighters helped to rescue a mare in Faversham Road, Seasalter, near Whitstable, after it became trapped in a water-filled dyke.

The new mum, who had a young foal close by waiting her to get out, was winched to safety using a crane from the animal rescue unit, after it had been sedated by a vet.

The mare was tired, but uninjured and well enough to graze and walk over to its foal, so all ended well.
