Kent Fire and Rescue Service attends a range of incidents including fires, road crashes, flooding, rescues from height, mud or confined spaces. It also supports other agencies including Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Martime and Coastguard Agency on a regular basis.

Field fire in Birchington

All firefighting operations have been completed and the fire on Shottendane Road in Birchington is now out.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service is currently responding to a field fire near Shottendane Road in Birchington. 
 
Four fire engines have been sent to the scene and crews are using hose reel jets to tackle the blaze. Residents living or working nearby have been advised to keep windows and doors closed as a precaution due to smoke. More to come.
