Kent Fire and Rescue Service attends a range of incidents including fires, road crashes, flooding, rescues from height, mud or confined spaces. It also supports other agencies including Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Martime and Coastguard Agency on a regular basis.

Incident
Lorry fire on M20 near Maidstone
Incident details
Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a lorry alight on the coast-bound carriageway of the M20, in-between junction 7 for Detling and junction 8 for Hollingbourne, near Maidstone. 
 
Three fire engines and a bulk water carrier were sent to the incident, and crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the blaze using hose reel jets and compressed air foam. 
 
No casualties have been reported. 
 
One fire engine and a bulk water carrier remain at the scene.
