Kent Fire and Rescue Service attends a range of incidents including fires, road crashes, flooding, rescues from height, mud or confined spaces. It also supports other agencies including Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Martime and Coastguard Agency on a regular basis.

Lorryload of hay alight - A257 Sandwich Road, Ash, near Canterbury
Incident details
Firefighters are dealing with a lorryload of hay (around 12 tonnes) which has caught alight and spread to the lorry trailer, on the A257 Ash Bypass, near Canterbury. 
 
The road is currently closed in both directions while crews deal with the incident. Kent Police is also in attendance.
