Kent Fire and Rescue Service attends a range of incidents including fires, road crashes, flooding, rescues from height, mud or confined spaces. It also supports other agencies including Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Martime and Coastguard Agency on a regular basis.

Firefighters tackle fire in ground floor flat in Sheerness
Incident details
Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to a fire in a ground floor flat in Plough Road, Minster on Sea, Sheerness. On arrival crews found a well established fire and helped a man in his 50s to safety, where he was treated for smoke inhalation. He was placed into the care of SECAmb paramedics. Three fire engines were sent to the fire and used breathing apparatus and hose reel jets to extinguish the blaze. The cause of the fire isn't known at this time. There were no other reported injuries.
