Kent Fire and Rescue Service attends a range of incidents including fires, road crashes, flooding, rescues from height, mud or confined spaces. It also supports other agencies including Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Martime and Coastguard Agency on a regular basis.

Beach hut fire in Tankerton, Whitstable
Incident details
Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a fire at a row of beach huts in Marine Crescent, in Tankerton, Whitstable. 
 
Two fire engines attended and crews used hose reel jets and main jets to extinguish the flames. Two huts were destroyed and a third was damaged by the fire. 
 
No casualties were reported. 
 
It’s believed the fire was started deliberately. Duty of care was left with Kent Police.
