Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of an outbuilding on fire on Regent Street in Rolvenden near Tenterden.
Four fire engines attended and crews, wearing breathing apparatus, used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames
One person was treated for smoke inhalation before being passed into the care of SECAmb paramedics. The cause is believed to be accidental and linked to a washing machine.
