House fire in Ashford

Firefighting operations have now finished at a house in Bank Road, Aldington, Ashford. Earlier warnings to avoid the area, due to road closures, have now been lifted.

At the height of the incident, six fire engines, a height vehicle, a bulk water carrier and the technical rescue unit were in attendance as crews, wearing breathing apparatus, extinguished the flames using main jets.

There were no reported injuries and the cause is not yet known, but is being investigated.

Update at 11am

If you are travelling or planning to travel near Bank Road, Aldington, Ashford, we are still advising you to avoid the area as crews are still dealing with a house fire. 

The fire is now out but crews are still at the scene dampening down hot spots.

Four fire engines and the technical rescue unit remain on scene.
