Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a shed fire on Cheriton Road, Folkestone.

Three fire engines attended and crews used main and hose reel jets to extinguish the fire. The shed was 100% destroyed by fire.

There are no reported injuries and the cause is believed to be accidental, due to an out of control bonfire.

If you're planning a bonfire in these hotter months, crews are reminding people:

  • Supervise the burning at all times
  • Keep the bonfire to a manageable size, clear of property and greenery
  • Always keep a bucket of water or hosepipe nearby

Lastly, if a bonfire gets out of control, move to safe place and call 999.
