Tunbridge Wells

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a fire in a bin which had spread to the fence and fascia of a house in Romford Road, Tunbridge Wells.

Two fire engines attended, and on arrival crews used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames. Firefighters also checked the property to make sure there was no internal damage.

Two people suffered minor smoke inhalation, and it's believed the fire started after embers in the bin caught alight.

Following the incident, firefighters are reminding everyone to always make sure ash is completely cool and submerged in water before disposing of it.
