Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a crash involving one vehicle on the M2 London-bound, between Junction 5 for Sittingbourne and Junction 4 for Gillingham.

Three fire engines attended, as well as Kent Police, SECAmb and officers from the Highways Agency.

A black Volkswagen T-Roc is reported to have collided with the central reservation before overturning, near to the service station.

Sadly, the driver, a woman in her 20s from the Faversham area, died at the scene and her next of kin has been informed.

Kent Police is urging anyone who witnessed the incident, or saw the vehicle beforehand, to contact the appeal line on 01622 798538 quoting reference BS/AW/092/25.
