Firefighting operations are complete at the scene of a house fire in Seaview Road in Greatstone, New Romney. 

No injuries were reported, and the cause is not yet known.

Update at 4.25pm on 22 April 2026: 

Firefighters are making good progress at the scene of a house fire in Seaview Road in Greatstone, New Romney. 

Three fire engines and a height vehicle remain in attendance, as well as the technical rescue unit, and crews are dampening down any remaining hotspots. 

No injuries have been reported, and the cause is not yet known. 

Services have now resumed on the nearby railway line but people are advised to check with the railway operator for any further updates.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service has been called to reports of a house fire in Greatstone, New Romney.

Five fire engines and a height vehicle are at the scene in Seaview Road, where crews wearing breathing apparatus are working to extinguish the fire.

As a precaution, due to the incident being close to a railway line, trains on the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway have been temporarily paused. Please check with the railway operator for service updates.
