Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a fire within a lorry trailer near the Dartford Crossing, in Dartford.
Two fire engines attended the north-bound carriageway, where crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the flames using hose reel jets.
No injuries were reported, and the cause is not yet known.
