The Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015 and The Accounts and Audit (Amendment) Regulations 2024


Notice is hereby given that the unaudited Statement of Accounts of the Kent and Medway Fire and Rescue Authority for the year ended 31 March 2026 has been published on the Authority’s website at: www.kent.fire-uk.org/financial-information. The Statement of Accounts is unaudited and may be subject to change.

From 1 July 2026 to 11 August 2026 between 10am and 4pm, Mondays to Fridays, any person interested or any journalist may, on application to [email protected] for an agreed prior appointment, at the Kent and Medway Fire and Rescue Authority Headquarters, Straw Mill Hill, Tovil, Maidstone, Kent ME15 6XB, inspect and make copies of the accounts of Kent and Medway Fire and Rescue Authority for the year ended 31 March 2026 and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers, receipts and other related documents relating to those accounts, except as provided in sections 26(4) to 26(6) of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 in relation to commercially confidential and personal information.

During this period, a local government elector for any area to which the accounts relate, may question the auditor about the accounts, or make an objection to the accounts as set out in sections 26 and 27 of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014. Any objection and the grounds, on which it is made, must be sent to the auditor in writing, with a copy to the Director of Finance and Corporate Services at the Kent and Medway Fire & Rescue Authority Headquarters, Straw Mill Hill, Tovil, Maidstone, Kent ME15 6XB or by email to [email protected]. Any objection must state the grounds on which the objection is being made and particulars of:

  1. Any item of account which is alleged to be contrary to law; and
  2. Any matter in respect of which it is proposed that the auditor could make a public interest report under section 24 of, and paragraph 1 of Schedule 7 to, the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014.
