Firefighting operations are now complete at the scene of a flat fire near Grove Road, close to Dover Road in Folkestone

At the height of the fire, six fire engines and a height vehicle attended, and crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to tackle the fire.

The Volunteer Response Team were in attendance, providing welfare.

One person was handed into the care of SECAmb paramedics due to smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.

 

Update at 4pm

People living, working or travelling near Grove Road, close to Dover Road in Folkestone, are no longer advised to keep windows and doors closed, following a flat fire in the area.

Five fire engines and a height vehicle remain at the scene and crews are making good progress.

Crews are advising people living, working or travelling near Grove Road, close to Dover Road in Folkestone to close windows and doors due to smoke coming from a flat fire.

Six fire engines are currently in attendance, and crews are working to extinguish the flames using main jets.
