Crews have made good progress overnight tackling a wildfire near West Lane on the Isle of Grain.

The fire is largely extinguished, with two fire engines remaining at the scene. Firefighters are continuing to dampen down any remaining hotspots.

People living near West Lane on the Isle of Grain are no longer being advised to close windows and doors, following a wildfire.

Six fire engines, a bulk water carrier and an all-terrain vehicle remain at the scene, and crews will continue to extinguish hotspots overnight.

The KFRS Volunteer Response Team were also in attendance.

People living or travelling near Isle of Grain in Rochester, are being advised to close their windows and doors, due to smoke coming from a wildfire in the area.

Ten fire engines, a bulk water carrier and a utility terrain vehicle are in attendance, and crews are working hard to extinguish the fire.
