7.30am - LATESTThe fire has now been extinguished and the warning for residents to keep windows and doors closed has been lifted. The quick actions of the firefighters to tackle the rubbish fire and the spread to the building resulted in minimal damage to the structure. 6am - UpdateFirefighting has been scaled back overnight due to the progress made at the site. Two fire engines are in attendance. An investigation into the blaze will be carried out. The cause isn't known at this stage.11.15pm - UpdateAround 35 firefighters are working hard to tackle a fire on a farm in Horton Kirby. A large amount of rubbish including building materials and mattresses is alight and the fire has engulfed a large building measuring 40m x 20m which contains a number of gas cylinders. The fire is creating a large amount of smoke in the area. Residents nearby continued to be asked to keep windows and doors closed as a precaution. All people have been accounted for and there are no reported injuries.10.30pm - UpdateKent Fire and Rescue Service is currently at the scene of a large fire on a farm in Lombard Street, Horton Kirby near Dartford involving a large amount of rubbish. The fire has spread to a building on the site. Six fire engines have been sent to the incident that is causing a large amount of smoke in the area. Residents living nearby have been asked to close their windows and doors as a precaution as the materials on fire are presently unknown. The cause of the blaze isn't known at this stage.
