Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of an out of control bonfire on Sussex Close in Herne Bay. Two fire engines were sent to the scene and crews arrived to find the bonfire spreading to a nearby shed and fence. Crews used a hose reel jet, a main jet and water from a hydrant to tackle the blaze. No casualties were reported.Following the incident, crews are reminding the public to take care when lighting a bonfire, and to always keep them well away from sheds, fences, foliage or any property. You should also never leave them unattended and ensure they’re fully extinguished once finished.
