We're excited to announce that a number of fire stations will be opening their doors to the public this year for another set of fun Summer Open Days.

On Wednesday 31 August, Rochester fire station will be hosting a Summer Open Day.

Families and friends alike are invited to come along and meet firefighters and other members while taking part in an exciting afternoon full of activities, including The Byrnes Family Show, jump on board a fire engine and lots of opportunities to learn about keeping the whole family safe.

The Summer Open Day will be open from 11am to 3pm, spaces are completely FREE but tickets MUST BE BOOKED in advance.

It's essential you book your free tickets for each member of your family via our dedicated link. If you do not have a ticket, you may not be able to attend. Demand for tickets may be high, so if you book yours and find out later that you are not able to attend, please let us know or cancel your tickets so that we can open up spaces on the waiting list for tickets.

Some things to note before you arrive:

  • Food and drink - You are welcome to bring your own food and drink to the event but there will be light refreshments on offer for a small cost.
  • Photography - There may be a photographer on site so please let a member of the team at the registration desk know if you don't want to be photographed.
  • An outside event - Many activities will be held outside, so please dress appropriately for hot or wet weather. If needed, bring with you some extra water and sunscreen.
  • No public parking - There will be no parking available due to the venue being a working fire station.
  • Limited toilet facilities - Station are not always large buildings so there may be limited access to toilet facilities.
  • A working station - The Open Days are held at working fire stations so there is a chance that the sirens may sound during the day. We ask that you stay close to your children at all times.
