Firefighters have been responding to weather related calls
Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) has received a number of weather related calls throughout the day, including to:
An unsecure roof, after part of it was blown onto the roadway in Crossways Boulevard, Dartford.
A 20 foot long hoarding had partially come down across the footpath, the remainder was being supported by three members of the public in the High Street, Edenbridge.
A sky light from a four-storey building in Cecil Street, Margate was secured after it was hanging from the building.
Firefighters used a short extension ladder to remove a trampoline that had blown onto the roof of a bungalow in Kennington, Ashford. It was then secured using rope.
Crews used an electric saw and bow saw to cut up a fallen tree. The remainder of the tree was then winched to the side of the road in Tonbridge Road, Hildenborough.

Crews secured a large sign that was overhanging the public walkway in Margate High Street.
Firefighters secured a large trampoline that had blown into a wall and building in Northdown Park, Margate.
Fire crews are currently dealing with incidents in:
Alfred Road, Birchington where crews have been called to assist with making two roofs safe. Fire crew are using safe access and hand tools to make the scene safe. The area has been cordoned off for public safety. Kent Police are also in attendance.
Firefighters are currently dealing with a partial wall collapse between shops in Thomsett Way, Queenborough. All the retail units have been evacuated as a precaution and no one has been injured
A number of calls that were received by KFRS’ emergency control room did not need fire crews to assist.
High winds have the potential to bring down trees, signs, fences and can create danger with unsecured objects. To prevent damage and possible injury, fully secure loose items and outdoor objects.
Strong winds can also make driving difficult, especially for those driving high sided vehicles, take extra care and drive to suit the conditions.
