Barn fire Hinxhill, Ashford
Incident details
Kent Fire and Rescue Service is dealing with a fire in the roof of an agricultural building in Hinkxhill,(north east of Ashford). The single storey building, which measures approximately 30m x 50m is used as storage units.
Around 50 firefighters, eight fire engines, a height vehicle, command support unit and two bulk water carriers are currently at the scene. Fire crews were called to the property just after 3.30am. They are wearing breathing apparatus and using four hose jets, (these are more powerful than hose reels and pass larger quantities of water), to fight the blaze.
Firefighters have gained access to the units and are working hard to stop the fire spreading.
