Kent Fire and Rescue Service attends a range of incidents including fires, road crashes, flooding, rescues from height, mud or confined spaces. It also supports other agencies including Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Martime and Coastguard Agency on a regular basis.

Large haystack fire in Bredhurst
Incident details
Update 10:30am Crews carried out a watching brief overnight at the scene of a fire involving a large quantity of baled straw in Bredhurst. One fire engine remains on the scene, and has been joined by the technical rescue team who are using a bobcat to break up the bales to allow access to hotspots. One lane of Forge Lane has been closed and Kent Police are also in attendance to manage traffic. 
Kent Fire and Rescue Service is dealing with a fire involving approximately 60 tonnes of baled straw that is alight in Forge Lane, Bredhurst. Crews were called at around 5.20pm and are working hard to prevent the fire from spreading using main jets, hose reels, beaters, drag rakes and a hydrant.
