Kent Fire and Rescue Service attends a range of incidents including fires, road crashes, flooding, rescues from height, mud or confined spaces. It also supports other agencies including Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Martime and Coastguard Agency on a regular basis.

Flat fire in Chatham
Incident details
Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a flat fire on the High Street in Chatham. Three fire engines and a height vehicle were sent to the scene, and crews arrived to the third floor flat fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets and main jets to extinguish the blaze. One casualty was rescued from the property by firefighters before being treated at the scene for minor smoke inhalation by SECAmb paramedics. No further casualties were reported and the cause is still being investigated.
