Kent Fire and Rescue Service attends a range of incidents including fires, road crashes, flooding, rescues from height, mud or confined spaces. It also supports other agencies including Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Martime and Coastguard Agency on a regular basis.

Chip pan fire - Herne Bay
Incident details
Firefighters from Herne Bay and Whitstable were called to reports of a chip pan fire this evening. They arrived at the property within eight minutes of receiving the 999 call and found the resident, a man in his mid 20s had tackled the fire himself, breathing in smoke in the process. He was given oxygen therapy by crews and fire safety advice. They left the property at around 7.30pm.
