Kent Fire and Rescue Service attends a range of incidents including fires, road crashes, flooding, rescues from height, mud or confined spaces. It also supports other agencies including Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Martime and Coastguard Agency on a regular basis.

Pembury house fire

Update 1.40pm At the height of the fire, four fire engines and 17 firefighters dealt with the blaze, which started in an outside wood store and spread to a ground floor conservatory. The fire destroyed the conservatory, the kitchen had 50% smoke and heat damage and the remaining floors were affected by smoke. Fire crews have now handed the duty of care back to the owner. 
 
Approximately 17 firefighters are tackling a fire that is believed to have started in an outdoor log store and spread into a conservatory of a three storey house in Romford Road. Crews wearing breathing apparatus used main jets to extinguish the fire and are checking the building internally for fire spread and hot spots. The blaze was out by 11.43am and the incident reduced to two fire engines. Crews are currently damping down and cutting away the roof. There are no reports of any injuries.
