Kent Fire and Rescue Service attends a range of incidents including fires, road crashes, flooding, rescues from height, mud or confined spaces. It also supports other agencies including Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Martime and Coastguard Agency on a regular basis.

Incident
Truck fire on M2 between Sittingbourne and Gillingham
Incident details
Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a truck alight on the M2 London-bound, between Junction 5 for Sittingbourne and Junction 4 for Gillingham. 
 
Two fire engines were sent to the scene, and crews wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the flames. 
 
No casualties were reported. 
 
The cause is believed to be accidental.
