Kent Fire and Rescue Service attends a range of incidents including fires, road crashes, flooding, rescues from height, mud or confined spaces. It also supports other agencies including Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Martime and Coastguard Agency on a regular basis.

Industrial building fire - Swanscombe

Kent Fire and Rescue Service are currently at the scene of a large fire in an industrial building on Manor Way, Swanscombe. 
 
Due to large amounts of smoke in the area, local residents are asked to close windows and doors. In addition, there have been reports that the smoke may cause disruption on the nearby rail service and local roads, please allow extra time if travelling in these areas. 
 
 
Update 09:45 
Crews have been working hard to tackle the fire using main jets and hose reels with up to ten fire engines, height vehicle, hose layer, two bulk water carriers and the technical rescue team drone being used. Good progress has been made.
