Incident
Greatstone storage heater fire
Incident details
A woman phoned 999 this morning after discovering an electrical storage heater had accidentally caught alight in her lounge. She was alerted to the small fire after her smoke alarms sounded. Fire crews wearing breathing apparatus ventilated the smoke filled lounge. After isolating the power supply to the heater they removed it from the property. They fitted new smoke alarms and gave the resident home safety advice before leaving the flat in Merritt Road.
