House fire in High Street, Farningham

One fire engine is still at the scene of a house fire which broke out at around 10.30pm (Saturday) in the High Street, Farningham.
At the height of the blaze six fire engines and a height vehicle were on the scene and crews battled hard to stop the fire and prevent it spreading to neighbouring properties and garages.
Damage was successfully contained to one house. By 2am the incident had been scaled down and crews continued damping down. The cause of the fire is unknown but a fire investigation will take place.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service is at the scene of a fire at a property near the High Street in Farningham near Dartford. Crews arrived to find the two storey property well alight. The fire was in the roof and crews used a height vehicle to tackle the fire from a good vantage point. Firefighters used hose reel jets and main jets to tackle the large fire which has caused part of the roof to collapse. There are no reported injuries. Crews are damping down and turning over hot spots. The cause of the blaze isn't known. An investigation will take place later.
