Kent Fire and Rescue Service attends a range of incidents including fires, road crashes, flooding, rescues from height, mud or confined spaces. It also supports other agencies including Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Martime and Coastguard Agency on a regular basis.

Shop alight in Maidstone
Incident details
6.30am Update Maidstone Fire 
Firefighters have made good progress in tackling this very large fire which has affected four shops in Week Street, Maidstone.  Fifteen crews were at the scene at the height of the fire, but by 6am this was reduced to six.  They have been using breathing apparatus, ten main jets and two arial appliances.  There are no casualties reported.  Properties in the area have been evacuated and Maidstone High Street and Week Street are currently closed. 
First Update 
Firefighters are dealing with a major fire at a three-storey shop in Week Street, Maidstone. The building is well alight across all three floors and fifteen fire engines are currently attending the scene, alongside several specialist appliances. Crews in breathing apparatus are carrying out a full search of neighbouring buildings and Kent Police have evacuated all flats at the rear of the premises. Fire crews are tackling the blaze using main jets and hose reels.
