Sending your documents to KFRS - Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022

Under the new Fire Safety Regulations 2022, Responsible Persons (RPs) for  multi-occupied residential buildings of 18 metres and over  will need to submit certain documents to KFRS as follows:

Please be aware that in order to meet our obligations under the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022, the Kent and Medway Fire and Rescue Authority will need to collect and store some of your personal data. Provide External Wall Report and mitigating measures

Responsible Persons of high-rise residential buildings must:

  • 'prepare a record of the design of external walls of the building, including details on the materials used, the level of risk created by the external walls (as identified in the fire risk assessment) and any mitigating steps that have been taken in respect of that risk' (Regulation 5)
  • provide a copy of this record to their local fire and rescue service (Regulation 11)

Report a fault

 

Responsible Persons of high-rise residential buildings are required 'to undertake monthly checks of key firefighting equipment within the building.  Where faults are identified which cannot be rectified within 24 hours, then the Responsible Person must report the fault to the local fire and rescue service as soon as reasonably practicable.  The local fire and rescue service must be notified again once the fault has been rectified.' (Regulation 7 - Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022)

Responsible Persons for high-rise residential buildings are required 'to undertake monthly checks of key firefighting equipment within the building.  Where faults are identified which cannot be rectified within 24 hours, then the Responsible Person must report the fault to the local fire and rescue service as soon as reasonably practicable.  The local fire and rescue service must be notified again once the fault has been rectified.' Send your building plans to KFRS

From the 23 January 2023 Responsible Persons for buildings of 18 metres or 7 storeys or more will be required to electronically provide KFRS with current building floor plans. 

Files should be no larger than 35 megabytes and emailed to KFRS by using the button below. Please submit a full set of plans for each block of flats per email (not exceeding the maximum file size as above).
