Summary cashflow 2022-23

Cashflow is the actual money that is moving in and out of the authority’s bank accounts.

The following statement shows that the authority had sufficient income to cover its outgoings for the period 2022-23. Figures for the previous year (2021-22) are also included to provide a comparison.

The fall in the amount of cash held by us (£1.8m) was largely due to the authority using the surplus cash balances instead of borrowing. The authority invests its cash in deposit accounts to earn interest and so this will affect the cashflow.
