Hours: Full time - 37 hours per week

Location: Service Headquarters, Maidstone – mixture of office and home working – 3 days per week in office (with travel countywide, based on needs)
Salary: Grade 8. Salary:£47,076 - £52,397 per annum depending on experience. Total Reward value £55,314.30 - £61,566.48 per annum.

Being the L&D Specialist

The Learning and Development Specialist (Trainer) is responsible for delivering consultancy on individual and team development – The L&D Specialist will design, create, deliver, and facilitate core curriculum training solutions. This includes developing and delivering management and leadership programs, as well as personal effectiveness training to support the professional growth and effectiveness of individuals and teams across the organisation.

The role focuses on providing high-impact learning interventions that align with organisational goals and leadership development strategies.

What you’ll do

  • Act as an internal consultant to diagnose individual and team development needs.
  • Provide tailored solutions to enhance performance, engagement, and leadership capabilities.
  • Develop and facilitate training solutions focused on core areas such as Management & Leadership Development and Personal Effectiveness.
  • Ensure training content is relevant, engaging, and aligned with business needs and objectives.
  • Deliver interactive and impactful training sessions through workshops, seminars, and blended learning approaches.
  • Partner with HR and business leaders to identify learning and development priorities, ensuring that training programs are aligned with business strategies.
  • Provide recommendations for addressing gaps in management, leadership, and personal effectiveness skills.
  • Provide one-on-one coaching and mentoring to employees and managers to enhance their leadership skills and personal effectiveness.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Learning and Development, Human Resources, Organisational Development, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications in training, instructional design, or coaching (e.g., CIPD, ILM).
  • Strengthscope accreditation and / or similar profiling tools is desirable.
  • Additional certifications in areas such as coaching, facilitation, or leadership development (e.g., ILM Level 7, CTDP) - Desirable.
  • Demonstrable experience in a learning and development role, with a focus on delivering management, leadership, and personal effectiveness training.
  • Experience providing in house consultancy on individual and team development, working closely with business leaders to identify and address development needs
